25 Years of Care bears

Wow.. 25 years has past since Care bear was first introduced to the world.

I first got to know of their existence when I was at my 1st grade or primary 1 in some region.

My school teacher had tasked that we go watch it a do a little review.

As a little boy in 80s, all I know was MASK and Transformers and care bear just seems too girly for me. But for some reason after watching the Carebear Movie I really like it.

But it was never something I pester my mom to buy. Boys and Teddy bears just dont seems to go together.

Back in the 80s, the only toys I got from Care bears were the little figurines.. but when they made a come back i was into a shopping Frenzy.

In this blog, I wish to have share my collection when all the Carebears lovers out there.

For those who have loved Carebears but know little about them.

Here's a little history on Care bears adopted from Wikipedia

The Care Bears are a set of characters created by American Greetings in 1981 for use on greeting cards. The original artwork for the cards was painted by artist Elena Kucharik. In 1983, Kenner turned the Care Bears into plush teddy bears.

Each Care Bear comes in a different color and has a specialized insignia on its belly that represents its duty and personality. This insignia was known as their "tummy symbol". The latest movie, Oopsy Does It!(2007), however, controversially renamed them "belly badges". A spin-off of the family, the "Care Bear Cousins," features a lion, a monkey, a penguin, a rabbit, and other such animals in the same style as the teddy bears.

The Care Bears appeared in their own television series from 1985 to 1988, in addition to three feature films: The Care Bears Movie (1985), Care Bears Movie II: A New Generation (1986), and The Care Bears Adventure in Wonderland (1987).
